Control Wiring Replacement
Standard replacement of HVAC unit control wiring per industry standards.
This is standard control wiring replacement, wherein we remove and replace the wiring to and for HVAC unit control equipment (thermostat). During the installation process, the wires are connected to a board on the thermostat, and the HVAC unit control board. The wires then transmit data via each wire between the thermostat and the unit. These solid wires are what allow the unit to talk to the thermostat to display system information, and vice versa for the thermostat to tell the unit what to do.
Definition: Thermostat or control wiring consists of multiple solid copper wires, each wrapped individually with differently-colored insulation and encased together inside a single protective jacket or cable sheath.
Scope of Work
- Perform required lockout/tag out safety protocol of NFPA70E of all high voltage electrical circuits prior to beginning work on the unit.
- Demo and dispose of the existing control wiring from the unit to the thermostat.
- Furnish and install all applicable plenum-rated control wiring from the unit to the existing thermostat.
- Terminate all newly-installed wiring as is applicable to the terminal board in the unit and in the existing thermostat.
- Perform comprehensive start-up and testing to ensure proper operation of both heating and cooling functions prior to departure.
