Refrigerant Top-Off
Providing top-off on required HVAC unit refrigerant.
A refrigerant top-off is the process of adding refrigerant to an HVAC system that is running at suboptimal pressure values. If your air conditioner isn't working correctly, it might be low on refrigerant. Air conditioners rely on refrigerant to work correctly—when this refrigerant (sometimes called "Freon") is low or has run out altogether, you need to charge your refrigerant to get your system working properly again.
Scope of Work
- Operational refrigerant pressures were noted to be below the manufacturers threshold for optimal operation and require adding refrigerant to top-off the existing refrigerant charge to the proper superheat and sub-cool values.
- Provide up to, but not to exceed, 5lbs of appropriate type of refrigerant to top off the existing refrigerant charge to the manufacturers specifications, as listed by the nomenclature on the units data tag.
- Ensure unit is charged to the proper refrigerant pressure values and note any deficiencies once refrigerant charge is corrected.
